Why I Still Learn Every Day (Even in this business)

There’s a strange myth that once you reach a certain level, you stop needing to learn. But for me, learning didn’t end when I started this, it intensified.
Every day, I discover something new. A better way to explain something. A more efficient technique. A mistake I made yesterday that I can correct today. A question from a student that sends me deep-diving into a topic I thought I understood. And some days? It’s just a reminder of what it feels like to be a learner (uncertain, messy and hopeful.)
I love that because staying in learning mode isn’t just professional upkeep it’s a mindset and humility. It’s how I stay curious, relevant, and human in an increasingly automated world.
A 2022 study by the European Commission on lifelong learning in the workplace found that educators who regularly engaged in self-directed learning not only taught more effectively, but also reported higher job satisfaction and stronger rapport with their learners.
I see this myself, when I share that I’m actively learning too whether it’s experimenting with AI tools, diving into a new language myself, or refining my pronunciation just like my students something shifts. We’re in this together.
So yes, I’m still learning. And I hope I always will be.
